My 616 was doing the same thing I changed the hydro belt (1/2 x 37") and tightened the tensioner about 1/4" and it made a huge difference.... I still need to change my fluid too (wait till you price them filters, $73 a peice!!!) American Lubricating has a specific hydrostatic transmission fluid that is available a most mower shops that buy from Rotary. The part number is 11589.
